Emmanuelle Moureaux

Emmanuelle Moureaux is a French architect living in Tokyo, where she founded the studio "Emmanuelle Mmoureaux Architecture + Design" in 2003. Inspired by the layers and colors of Tokyo, which created complex depth and density on the street, and Japanese traditional spatial elements such as sliding screens, she created the concept of shikiri, which literally means "dividing (creating) space with colors". Her representative works include the architectural design for Sugamo Shinkin Bank, the art installation series "100 Colors" and the space design for ABC Cooking Studio.

Her installation series - 100 colors - expresses emotions from the experience of colors and layers of Tokyo. Introduced in 2013 to mark the 10th anniversary of her studio, Emmanuelle plans to exhibit "100 Colors" in various cities around the world. Her unusual design sense can be seen in, for example, Schönbuch's collection of hangers.
