Ferruccio Laviani

Ferruccio Laviani was born in 1960 and studied architecture at the Polytechnic Institute in Milan. In 1986, he was a member of the De Lucchi studio in collaboration with various companies, which helped him gain popularity as one of Europe's most prestigious designers. He has worked with companies in the furniture and fashion industries, for which, in addition to designing products, he also takes care of corporate identity and designs showrooms around the world. He is also responsible for art direction, communication, exhibitions and events, always in a highly modern and recognizable style.

He made his debut in the lighting world by designing the sculptural Orbital lamp for Foscarini, an authentic icon of Italian design, along with his version of the Bit wall lamp. The partnership between Kartell and Laviani began in 1991, when he worked there as a consultant responsible for designing and organizing presentations and exhibitions. Later in 1997, Laviani designed and created a new store on Via Turati along with Kartell's new corporate identity worldwide. His products are among Kartell 's best sellers and his influence can be seen in the wide range of Kartell products.
