Gemma Bernal

Born in Barcelona,Gemma Bernal is a versatile designer who has created everything from furniture and lighting to toys, household appliances, sanitaryware and street furniture in a 40-year career. The Spanish designer has been running her own Gemma Bernal office since 2004. Competitive and utilitarian products are the basis of her portfolio. She has won several awards and worldwide recognition with her furniture, lamp and bathroom designs.

Gemma Bernal's work is influenced by the Mediterranean, especially Barcelona's atmosphere in terms of sun, light and excited people sharing a meal on restaurant terraces. Her work is about observation, synthesis and design. Her passion for gastronomy and her contact with world-renowned chefs have led her to devote the last 15 years of her life to designing tableware. One of her partners is Vilagrasa, represented in our portfolio.
