Jordi Vilardell

Jordi Vilardell is a Spanish designer from Catalonia. He started his professional career in 1983, towards the end of his academic period at the Escuela Superior de Diseño, La Llotja. He started as a product manager in a technical lighting company. Later he worked as an independent professional, working on decorative, technical and architectural lighting projects, as well as on very diverse product design projects. At the same time, over the years he has combined his professional side with teaching, while learning three-dimensional models in high-end programs.

Jordi's designs are characterized by simple but expressive forms and the use of light as a design element. His work is often inspired by nature and organic forms found in the natural world. He is particularly known for his use of LED technology in his lighting designs. He has worked with several leading lighting brands, including Vibia and Metalarte. His designs have won numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious Red Dot Design Award and iF Product Design Award.
