José María Reina
Jose Maria Reina, born in Seville, Spain, is a versatile designer and self-taught in his field. He belongs to the generation that promoted Barcelona as a reference city in industrial design. His multidisciplinary work in the fields of furniture and jewellery design led him to merge the two disciplines and create a new concept of watches. This clock has a new style, which is reflected in both its shapes and materials. Thanks to his designs, wall clocks have regained their status as a decorative piece and ornament for the home, office and public spaces.
He exhibits and markets his collections under the Nomon brand, which he founded and built into a company that now expands to 60 countries. The vast majority of the clocks are made of steel or wood. Steel products consist of high quality thin stainless steel with various finishes. The use of steel makes the hands much stronger and more durable than aluminium or plastic materials, which are often used in cheaper alternatives. The wooden clock is made from walnut wood and is finished with a matt transparent protective varnish.
