Jutta Friedrichs

At the age of 8, Jutta designed and built an elaborate dollhouse with miniature furniture in her father's workshop. When she was finished, she happily covered it with a blanket and tucked it into a corner of the basement. She never played with it, but instead moved on to many other design projects. Her ambition and determination to analyze and design the world around her led her to Harvard Graduate School of Design, where she earned a Master's degree in Design Studies in 2012.

In 2005, shortly after receiving her BA in Product Design from Central Saint Martins Collage of Art and Design, London, Jutta was recruited by Dutch retailer Xindao to co-found their own design department in Shanghai, China. Two years later she founded her own furniture design studio, MÜ Furniture, and was awarded two Red Dot, one Elle Decoration and one If design award. With a passion for culture and crafts, the German designer conducted research into Chinese traditional Ming furniture as the basis for a range of furniture that has been featured in many design magazines. One of the companies she designed seating furniture for was Kubikoff, an Italian company in our portfolio.
