Kateřina Handlová

Kateřina Handlová was born in 1988 in Prague. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and actively studied at the French École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, where she focused on jewellery making. Her work combines glass with various materials such as leather, rope and porcelain to create unique objects that reflect her personal experiences as well as her fascination with the world of Haute Couture. Katherine honours craftsmanship and pays attention to detail; she favours glass for its unique character, possibilities and challenges. With her original approach, she is undoubtedly one of the greatest hopes of contemporary Czech glassmaking.

She has worked as a designer at Sans Souci and during her internship at They & van Daalen studio in Eindhoven. Since 2016 she has been working as a designer in Dubai for Lasvit Middle East. Her Shibari and Romance lighting collection for Bomma completely characterizes her unique style.
