Lucy.D

Studio Lucy.D was founded by designers Barbara Ambrosz and Karin Santorso in Vienna in 2003. Three years later, a second studio was established in Steyr. The designers' work reflects a clear and open approach to projects in the fields of product design, architecture and corporate design. The aim of Lucy.D's work is to reveal the poetry in everyday life and to develop inspiring and practical products. Their concepts intelligently combine form, function and technical aspects of the product. They strive for harmony and balance between innovation and tradition, sensuality and meaning, detail and overall impression.

Barbara and Karin apply both manual and robotic technologies in their production processes. They are involved in a three-year EU-funded project Robotic Woodcraft, which explores the artistic possibilities of using an industrial robot in the woodworking industry. They plan their concepts with a high sensitivity to the specific brand and material used. In addition, both designers offer professional advice throughout the entire process - from implementation to the final product. In 2017, the members of Lucy.D formed a partnership with the owner of the porcelain manufactory Beate Seckauer and together founded the Neu/Zeug brand, which focuses on modern and sustainably produced porcelain lamps.
