Mathias Hoffman

Mathias Hoffmann was born in 1954 in Ulm/Donau, Germany. Gertrud Hoffmann, a well-known German textile designer, played an important role in shaping Mathias' artistic sensibility. After graduating from university, Mathias embarked on a creative journey as a freelance artist in Munich. In 1971 he joined Rolf Benz, where he honed his skills and gained invaluable experience in the field. After ten years as a product manager at Rolf Benz, he took the plunge in 1980, setting up his own design studio and assembling a team of talented designers.

Mathias specialised in product design, but his creative abilities extended into different areas of design. The breadth of expertise allowed him to approach projects holistically and ensure a cohesive and harmonious design language. His designs exude a sense of refined sophistication, often featuring clean lines, meticulous attention to detail and a focus on user experience. Whether it's furniture, home accessories or architectural elements, Mathias' creations seamlessly blend form and function, elevating everyday life with a touch of artistry.
