Morten Georgsen

Danish designer Morten Georgsen is the founder of the design studio By Georgsen, which he founded in 1992 under the name Futhark Design. His home country, Denmark, became his functional platform. He completed his university education in marketing in the 1980s and after several years in marketing, advertising and working in a furniture factory, he founded his own studio. His idea was to make good design accessible to the masses by taking it to another, higher level. He is a valued designer of timeless furniture that is stylish, functional and serves a purpose. Among other things, he is still involved in product management at Bang & Olufsen, a company that focuses on designer speakers.

Elegance and functionality, Nordic minimalism. This, together with the motto"no nonsense", is Morten Georgsen's basic philosophy, which is evident throughout his work. His company moved from Denmark to Valencia, Spain in 2002 and was renamed By Georgsen in 2014. Morten Georgsen has worked with leading retail brand BoConcept for over 25 years and also as a freelance designer for DAN-FORM Denmark.
