Neunzig° Design
The Neunzig° Design studio was founded in Wendlingen am Neckar, Germany, by Barbara Funck and Rainer Weckenmann in 1994. The Munich native and the Stuttgart-based designer came together when Rainer won the Bavarian State Prize for his master's thesis. In their joint creative work, they focus on everyday objects and the practices of their users within everyday life. Their ultimate goal is to create individual products for individual people. In doing so, they seek practical qualities that we can truly appreciate. The resulting pieces thus have the chance to become our companions for a long time. "We want to create products that stand out from the mass of competitors at first glance," explain Barbara and Rainer. "We are looking for innovation and exceptional character that will immediately win the heart of the user. We believe in beauty and a high level of quality and design without having to compromise."
Barbara and Rainer have been given the opportunity to realise their bold vision through their collaboration with the Boffi brand. The Folio washbasin, which they created for her in 2003, has become iconic. The unique piece picked up one design award after another shortly after its creation. The Skyline bathroom system and the SP14 mirror were also successful. We at Neunzig° Design have a rich catalogue of office and conference chairs designed for the Austrian company Wiesner Hager.
