Oscar Tusquets
Oscar Tusquets Blanca was born in Barcelona in 1941 and presents himself as an architect, adaptation designer, painter and writer. He graduated from Barcelona's Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura in 1965 and was a member of Studi Per along with Pep Bonet, Cristian Cirici, Lluís Clotet and Mireia Riera, with whom he began working as a furniture designer. He won the Spanish National Design Award and many of his works have appeared in the collections of major museums such as MoMA in New York and the Centre George Pompidou in Paris. His professional career as a whole has been honoured with the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes - the gold medal for merit in the visual arts. Since 1994, he has been writing books and essays; his works include Más que discutible, Dios lo ve and Contra la desnudez a Dalí y otros amigos. Throughout his career he has worked with many design brands, including Driade.
