Raffaella Mangiarotti
Italian designer Raffaella Mangiarotti studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, where she continued her work as a researcher. In 1994, she received her PhD in Environmental Design and a year later, together with Matte Bazzialupo, she founded Deepdesign, a design company that designs home appliances and consumer electronics for major international companies and holds more than 20 patents. She also works independently, especially in furniture, accessories and creative directions.
Some of her products are exhibited in museums, are part of permanent collections and have been awarded international design prizes. Her projects have been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions internationally. Mangiarotti has developed several projects for well-known companies such as Barilla, Coca Cola, Coop and Daim Chrysler. She has also worked as art director for the Italian design company Serralunga, Manerba and IOC.
