Sebastian Herkner
Sebastian Herkner was born in 1981 in Bad Mergentheim. He studied product design at the HfG Offenbach am Main and during his studies he focused on designing objects and furniture that combine different cultural contexts, combining new technologies with traditional craftsmanship to bring out the multifaceted beauty of materials, and again drawing attention to small details.
While still a student, Herkner undertook an internship with Stella McCartney in London, which helped him hone his sense of materials, colours, textures and structures. Since setting up his own design studio in Offenbach am Main in 2006, he has designed products for companies such as ClassiCon, De Vorm, Moroso and nanoo, and has also worked on interior design projects and for exhibitions and museums. Since 2007 he has been running several courses at the HfG Offenbach am Main as a guest lecturer. His designs have won numerous awards, such as the German Design Award 2011 in the Newcomer category. Today, global brands such as LaCividina, for which he created the elegant SOAVE and ALA collections, among others, and Pedrali, for which he designed the unique BLUME line, are enjoying the collaboration with this renowned designer.
