Timo Ripatti
Timo Ripatti is a Finnish designer born in 1967. After studying architecture and industrial design, he worked for a number of studios creating interior design projects, exhibitions and objects for lighting and furnishing. In Helsinki he founded the Ripatti studio, under which he has worked with several European companies, especially in the field of product design. In his work he combines aesthetic and poetic qualities with functionality to create products capable of satisfying human needs in different contexts, in and out of the home. Throughout his career, Timo Ripatti has received numerous awards including the Furniture of the Year Award in Finland in 2009 and 2010, a Red Dot Honorable Mention in 2012, and the NYCxDESIGN Award at the ICFF in New York in 2016. His work has been exhibited in numerous museums and exhibitions, including La Triennale di Milano, Design Museum Helsinki and the Living Design Center in Tokyo.
