Outdoor furniture FAST
Outdoor design from Italy
With the combination of top designers and quality workmanship, FAST S.p.A. has positioned itself among the top of all modern outdoor furniture companies. FAST S.p.A. was founded in 1995 in Valle Sabbia by the Levrangi family, who were eager to design and produce a new generation of outdoor furnishing solutions. The Italian company thus wanted to differentiate itself from the collective idea of traditional chairs. A cornerstone in the brand's history was the launch of the "Forest" collection, which became the company's bestseller. The Forest collection was the result of a collaboration with designers Robby and Francesca Cantarutti. FAST also hit the market in 2011 with original textile collections that marked the initial phase of the dialogue between aluminium and high-tech fabrics.
We started as a blank, unwritten sheet of paper, a malleable material that we work with every day with our own hands. The company itself is made up of materials, products and processes, and above all people. - FAST
The history of FAST furniture
1995 Founding of FAST
The Levrangi family chose aluminium as their preferred material. With Fast came a new generation of modern outdoor patio furniture that perfectly combines practicality and durability with comfort and beauty. With furniture from Fast you can create real outdoor living rooms.
2007 A touch of design
A partnership with Robby Cantarutti & Partners resulted in the debut of the Forest outdoor furniture collection, which continues to be one of our best sellers.
2013 Machines supporting humans
The introduction of lean manufacturing (a method of production where the company only produces what the customer requires) and the implementation of robotic units has significantly improved the quality of work and products.
2017 New materials for new shapes
The partnership with Studio Lievore Altherr in Barcelona has given the green light to a new form of experimentation, both in terms of materials and style.
2017 A new home
The new showroom was located in a beautifully restored old 19th century building that was once used as a cotton factory. The past is a reminder of our previous encounters, but also the future, a vista of possibilities and encounters yet to come.
FAST as a local brand
Fast could not have chosen a better place for its production than Valle Sabbia, where ironworking dates back to antiquity. For centuries, the inhabitants of Valle Sabbia have been playing with metals: forging them, bending them, turning them into objects needed for work, religion and leisure. This tradition continued until the middle of the 20th century and formed the technical and cultural basis - the famous "know-how" of FAST.
The nature surrounding Vestone, where FAST is located, accompanies its work, is part of everyday life and the backdrop for modern outdoor furniture from the FAST workshop. Nature is also the source of the company's philosophy and talent, the overall level, care and quality of work and respect for materials. Iron used to be the main material, today it is aluminium combined with brand new high-tech materials. Although aluminium requires a different kind of work, the passion for it is the same. The aesthetic that FAST believes in has always had an ethical side: beauty cannot exist without sustainability, reliability and care - care for people, resources and the environment.
FAST's values
FAST 's market position falls under the "outdoor lifestyle" segment. Open the door, take a step and you are outdoors - in your garden or in a large park, in a square, on a city street, on the waterfront or on the terrace of a big city surrounded by skyscrapers. The tradition we believe in is about bringing people together and that without the past there is no future. The innovation we believe in is about machines meeting people. Innovation comes where hands can become mechanical because more power and more precision, safety and control are needed.
Design for your home and garden
Chairs and tables - like any other object - can express the worldview and unique perspective of the person who wants and designs them. FAST loves simple, elegant and timeless designs. The company's belief is that products should last over time, both in terms of the materials used and their style. Of course, there is also a place for comfort in design, which for FASTmeans functionality, practicality, multifunctionality and, in terms of design, stackability or modularity of products. Lastly, pleasing aesthetics come into play, because beauty also has a role and an ethic of its own, as long as the object is in a place where it fits and inspires.
Introducing the FAST production process
Aluminium is the lightest of all the materials used in manufacturing, compared to steel aluminium is one third the weight. Aluminium is versatile and malleable, like hot wax melts in the hands of those who know how to work with it. Aluminium is also corrosion, ageing and weather resistant and requires little maintenance, on top of which it is non-toxic and can be recycled endlessly. In 1995, FAST chose aluminium as its main material, alongside materials such as stone, wood and fabric.
The year 2013 was a turning point for FAST, with the introduction of lean production, the division of production into sections brought a number of tangible benefits: greater efficiency, quality, new customer service and greater satisfaction and peace of mind for employees. One of the strengths of lean production is the alignment of the entire production process with customer demand. FAST is not dependent on subcontractors, which means it can do everything much faster, both variation and product customisation.
Sustainability and the environment
Environmental friendliness has always been one of FAST 's core values. In recent years, the need for sustainability has arisen globally, but for FAST this has not been a major change, but rather a confirmation of the direction it has been taking for some time. Respecting the place and dreaming and the nature that surrounds the people who inhabit it has always been the company's philosophy.
For a long time, the company has been taking real steps to make its products greener and more sustainable, for example, using the LCA method to track the environmental footprint of a large number of products throughout their life cycle, from raw materials to finished products. This also helps the company to get feedback on how to minimise inefficiencies and waste. Ultimately, for a company that manufactures outdoor furniture, protecting the environment is both a necessity and a raison d'être.
FAST has achieved EPD certification, a great achievement and another step towards a way of doing business that puts respect - for humanity and everything around us - at the forefront. It is a commitment and a guarantee for customers who know they can rely on transparent information comparable to other suppliers around the world. This structured and strategic way currently includes 4 products: the Forest chair, the Aikana sofa, the Ushuaia lounger and the Radice Quadra table .
FAST projects and realisations
White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa is located on Paje Beach in Zanzibar - one of the most beautiful places in the world, a place with white sand and crystal clear sea. Here, designer Katarzyna Kuzminska has adapted the architecture of every part of the resort to achieve maximum harmony between the human element and the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding nature. Each of the 11 beach villas boasts a large garden, terrace and private pool. FAST has equipped the outdoor areas around the pool and adjacent beach. By the pool, Ushuaia sun loungers can be found where guests can royally relax, and for seating, there is a Radice Quadra table with Niwa chairs.
