HÅG
Ergonomic office chairs HÅG
For healthy active sitting
The essence of HÅG chairs is active sitting. They all feature the unique HÅG in Balance® technology, which has been developed by experts to allow your whole body to be in continuous motion the entire time you are sitting. The brand's home for 60 years has been the Norwegian town of Røros. It is here that HÅG has been developing and manufacturing innovative chairs for more than just the office since the 1970s. They have worked with leading designers as well as doctors and physiotherapists to develop first-class ergonomic chairs, whose knowledge and experience guarantee the ergonomic flawlessness of the products. HÅG is a market leader in Scandinavia and one of the top ten manufacturers of office chairs in Europe.
Ensuring active seating with HÅG products
Active sitting is a core priority for HÅG products. All chairs have the unique HÅG in Balance® technology, which supports your body' s natural movements when you sit. You move without having to think about it, improving circulation throughout your body. The in Balance technology was born out of an impromptu design studio on a Swedish country farm, where talented designers motivated to push the boundaries of ergonomic seating came together. Since then, in Balance® has been at the heart of every HÅG chair. The first chair to feature this revolutionary technology was SoFi.
HÅG ergonomic chairs don't just guarantee a healthy sitting experience, they also help you stay energetic and therefore more productive at work. The entire in Balance system is based on a simple premise: you don't sit the same way all the time at work. So HÅG wanted to enable people to move comfortably and naturally at work. The most famous chair , Capisco, was inspired by the dynamic seating of a horse rider.
High quality and Scandinavian design
The main focus is the high quality of the chairs , their premium look and the way they impress customers. All parts of the chair have been thought out down to the smallest detail so that the best of Scandinavian design is combined in the final product and the chair will last for decades. All chairs are adapted to modern offices where people change their seats frequently.
The best sitting position is always the next one.
HÅG produces high quality chairs that are designed to last. All internal parts and external details are carefully thought out. HÅG brings the best of Scandinavian design, even involving you in the entire design process. What's more, the factory in Roros is equipped with the most modern machinery to produce chairs in Europe. Through extensive research, studies and user testing, the needs and preferences of even the most demanding customers are taken into account. This helps to create chairs that are easy to use and adapt to any way of working, in any environment. Now and in the future.
The HÅG brand story
Below you can watch three short films that tell the unique story of HÅG, each from a slightly different perspective. Today's manufacturing techniques are among the most advanced in Europe, but it wasn't always so. Traditionally, copper was mined in the Røros area, which was also a major source of employment, but after 300 years the copper mine dried up, leaving the town in a difficult situation. HÅG was initially a small independent company based in Oslo, concentrating on kitchen furniture and school equipment, but as the business grew the brand needed more and more space and so the offer to move its headquarters to Røros was gratefully accepted, allowing it to provide extra work for the locals. Unfortunately, demand for the steel furniture that HÅG specialised in at the time had fallen dramatically. On the verge of bankruptcy, however, came a redeeming idea - to start specialising in ergonomic chairs. Today, HÅG is part of the Flokk Group.
Where is HÅG at home?
The historic town of Røros in Norway is where the HÅG brand was born. The town has become an integral part of its story. Røros is dominated by its wooden houses, which are even a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Collaboration with designers
Since 1972, HÅG has worked externally with designers who are leaders in their field. Longer-term collaborations did not take long to come about, and Studio HÅG was formed, consisting of pioneering design enthusiasts who shocked the world with their innovative pieces during the 1970s. Of particular note in 1984 was the revolutionary Capisco chair, which forever changed the way one could sit at work. The Capisco chair immediately became the company's bestseller. Capisco perfectly reflects designer Peter Opsvik's motto: "The best sitting position is always the next best position."

Sustainability by HÅG
The brand has a very strong feeling for the environment and has made a commitment to fight for its protection, HÅG was even the first company to have an environmental manager (back in 1990!). HÅG chairs last for many years, none of the materials harm nature and if any of the chair parts wear out, they can be easily replaced. People should take care of what they love, and the people of Røros love the nature that surrounds them and that is home to them.
