Furniture and home accessories MINIFORMS
Italian design that we love
Miniforms is an Italian design brand that proudly produces seating and storage furniture in a light and elegant style. The range includes tables, chairs, armchairs, beds, as well as home accessories and lighting. The brand's identity is closely linked to the region in which it originated - the town of Meolo in the Veneto region. As long as this identity is preserved, Miniforms products will carry a touch of tradition. For more information, see our article.
History of the MINIFORMS brand
All stories start with a hammer and a saw, don't they? Well, maybe not all stories, but the Miniforms one does. The setting of the story is Meolo, a tiny town north of Venice where Luigi Bardini, the man with the musket (pictured centre) lived. He already had a surprisingly strong character, a mind of his own and a business plan at the age of eighteen, so for him in the late sixties, the question of whether to become a flower child or a businessman was simple. He had no doubt that he wanted to be an entrepreneur.
Since money doesn't grow on trees, he started by selling staple clamps. As a salesman, he did well, but still eventually decided to switch to wooden furniture and start his own factory with his two partners. Over the next thirty years, all sorts of things happened. There was the first unsuccessful product, then the first successful one, and by the time the world welcomed the new century, Miniforms was producing furniture accessories for Italy and the world.
In 2009, Luigi handed the company over to his sons Alessandro, Matteo and Mario. The move was a turning point for the company. Miniforms partnered with new designers and things started to happen. Shapes became more rounded, the new pieces created were colourful and avant-garde. Although Miniforms has always worked with colour, it has always used it carefully. At first it was unusual, but over time everyone became friends with the new palette of colours, which included both yellow and green, and a distinctive style developed, full of distinctively elegant and unexpected shapes, which is the common denominator of all Miniforms products.
We are craftsmen, each of us knows something different. There are woodworkers, glassmakers, ceramicists, those who can upholster chairs or make chairs. Each of us has inherited the know-how from a family tradition and has preserved it to this day. Machines help us, but we still do most of the work with our hands.
