The SEDUS production process
- Metal fabrication
Steel is processed into semi-finished products, for which various presses, lathes, grinding and bending machines, tube laser and welding robots are available. - Surface treatment
Surface treatment is used to protect against corrosion and improve visual appearance. Individual parts are either galvanized or powder coated. In addition, powder coating is an environmentally friendly process as it contains no solvents and produces little waste. - Upholstery and sewing
Foam, textile and leather are cut to size. Thanks to CNC controlled cutting of textiles and efficient hand cutting of leather, the offcuts are small, reducing waste. - Wood processing
Wooden parts such as armrests, backrests, seat shells are made from raw materials and depending on their use are veneered, glued with additional layers, cut and milled. All visible parts are varnished and, if necessary, pre-painted before assembly. - Parts production
The parts production department produces almost all wooden components for office desks and cabinets. - Final assembly
In the final stage of production, the metal and wood components and upholstery are assembled onto the finished products (office swivel chairs, sofas, tables or cabinets).
SEDUS has sustainability in mind
Sustainability requires binding rules, clear structures - and a sense of responsibility on everyone's part. Today, sustainability means protecting the foundations of human life for future generations so that everyone can live in a world that is ecologically, socially and economically intact. That is why Sedus has made sustainability a voluntary commitment and systematically implements it in its daily work.
