Alberto Meda
Alberto Meda was born in 1945 in Lenno Tremezzina, a small town in the province of Como. In 1969 he obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan. He later became head of the technical department at Kartell, where he was in charge of supervising all the designs and leading the research for the technological development of polyurethane foam. He worked with the Auto Design division of Alfa Romeo Auto. He also worked as a lecturer at a number of institutions: Domus Academy in Milan, Polytechnic University of Milan and IUAV in Venice.
He has won numerous awards for his products and his works are part of the design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He currently collaborates with brands such as Alias, Alessi, Arabia-Finland, Cinelli, Italtel, JcDecaux, Mandarina Duck, Ideal Standard, Kartell, Omron Japan, Philips and Olivetti.
