Álvaro Catalán de Ocón

Alvaro Catalan De Ocon is a Spanish architect. After graduating in Business Management, he began his training in product design at the Instituto Europeo di Design in Milan. He later graduated with honours from Central Saint Martins in London. In 2004 he founded his own studio in Barcelona. A few years later he moved to Madrid, where he teaches at the Instituto Europeo di Design.

His concept of design is based on a very sophisticated vision of the uniqueness of the object. His designs are pure and elemental. The light and relaxed look of his realisations is achieved through an intensive process of study. His work has been featured in several galleries and events. He has also curated many exhibitions, including the Finnish Design Week "Helsinki - Madrid Findesign", held in 2010 at the El Matadero Cultural Center in Madrid.
