Antonio Citterio & Toan Nguyen

Antonio Citterio was born in Meda in 1950. He graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1975. In 1998 he started working with Toan Nguyen and a year later he founded the studio "Antonio Citterio and Partners", where Toan became manager and partner. The studio operates internationally and develops complex, long-term projects. Citterio became part of the Italian Design Council established by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. He is currently working in industrial design with Italian and international companies such as Ansorg, B&B Italia and Guzzini. Citterio is one of the best known architects and designers in Europe. The secret of his success, he says, is his commitment to truth and individuality: "I design products for myself. I don't want to work according to recommendations. If I don't want the products I design around me, they shouldn't exist."

Toan Nguyen was born in Paris in 1969, where he studied industrial design at ENSCI-Les Ateliers in 1995. After working in several design studios in Paris, Barcelona and Milan, he began working with Antonio Citterio in 1998. In 2008 he founded Toannguyenstudio in Milan. Toannguyenstudio is a multidisciplinary studio dedicated to managing design and product development from the smallest details to research technologies for visual communication and spaces in collaboration with leading international companies.
