Area 44

Davide Carlesi and Gian Luca Tonelli were both born in Italy in the 1970s, albeit in different parts of the country. Their journey together began at the end of the 1990s, when they started to work in industrial design and participate in various fairs and workshops, presenting their products created in collaboration with companies boasting extensive craft experience. These collaborations and excellent reviews immediately secured success and commissions across Italy and abroad.

Their Area44 brand stems from a shared desire to offer rigorous and rational, yet passionate design. The furniture is essential, but only as a design and functional backdrop to the person it must not overshadow.

They currently collaborate with brands such as Snaidero, MIDJ, Andrea Fontebasso, Domitalia, Dinova and Assouline.
