Barnaby Gunning

The British architect studied at Bartlett with the famous architect Peter Cook. While working with the studio of Italian architect Renzo Piano, he was involved in the design of Kansai International Airport, among other projects. It is the world's longest ever airport building located on an artificial island near Osaka, Japan. However, Barnaby Gunning considers one of his most valuable experiences to be his position as structural engineer during the design of the roof of the Esplanade Theatre in Singapore. In 1996, Barnaby Gunning began working with the office of renowned Israeli designer Ron Arad, where he was put in charge of the architecture department. The successful era together has stretched significantly -- Ron and Barnaby have worked on commissions for private clients and large companies alike, and have also published several collections of art objects.

Immediately upon his return in 2004, Barnaby opened his own design studio in London, straightforwardly named Barnaby Gunning Architects. The firm, which spans a multitude of disciplines, combines architecture, product design and 3D programming. Barnaby received the Young Architect of the year award in 2009, and subsequently the Camden Design Award for his successful house design.
