Cecile Manz


Cecilie Manz is a renowned Danish designer with a focus on industrial design. With her innovative and original pieces, she is considered one of the most outstanding design personalities of her generation. She was born in 1972 in the Danish region of Odsherred on the island of Zealand. In 1997 she graduated from the Danish Design School in Copenhagen and before graduating she completed an exchange internship at the Finnish School of Art and Design in Helsinki. She then worked briefly in Professor Yrjö Wiherheimo's studio in Helsinki. In 1998 she returned to Copenhagen and founded her own studio, Manz Lab.

Her work includes a wide range of products such as furniture, jewellery, lighting and sculptures. She has worked with renowned brands including Lightyears, Holmegaard, Nils Holger Moormann, Fritz Hansen, Muuto and Mooment. Among her best-known works are the Caravaggio lamps for the Lightyears brand and the Mikado table, which was included in a design collection exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Not forgetting the SOUFFLÉ design poufs she created for Offecct.
