Enzo Mari

Enzo Mari, born April 27, 1932, was an Italian modernist artist and furniture designer who is known to have influenced many generations of industrial designers. He studied at the Brera Academy in Milan, Italy, from 1952 to 1956. From 1956 he specialized in industrial design and created a portfolio of more than 2,000 works. In 1974, Enzo Mari created the book Autoprogigianato, which deals with the construction of custom furniture, and in the 1980s he designed the modernist Tonietta chair.

Several of Mari's works have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art. He donated the archive of his designs to the city of Milan on the condition that it could not be displayed for 40 years. His timeless designs still reign over the collections of Magis, Driade and Rexite , demonstrating the enormous range of this very talented designer.
