Franco Poli
Franco Poli, a designer born in Padua in 1950, works mostly freelance. He worked as artistic director at the Bernini Spa, worked for Poltrona Frau and opened his own studio in Venice. In the same period he also started his activity as a visiting professor at the U.I.A. University in Florence, C.N.R. and the Polytechnic University of Milan. He is a staunch defender of the originality and independence of Italian design and in the 1990s founded the A.D Veneto association and the Italian Chamber of Design.
Franco Poli was a design teacher at the Venice School of Fine Arts. Between 1988 and 2010 he organized a series of design conferences in many cities, including São Paulo, Quito, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami and New York. Since 1995, one of his creations has been exhibited in the permanent collection of the Denver Art Museum. He has received many accolades and awards and his unusual work can be admired in Tonon's collections. Since 1995, one of his creations has been part of the Denver Art Museum's collection. In 2005, 2007, 2011 and 2014 he was awarded the Good Design Award, placing him among the world's best designers.
