GamFratesi

Studio GamFratesi was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. The design of Studio GamFratesi draws its creative impulse from a combination of tradition and renewal and from an experimental approach to the materials and techniques chosen. Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, who have a dual traditional background, benefit from the classical Danish furniture and craftsmanship tradition as well as the classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach. Understanding the tradition and taking an active approach to it in the workshop allows it to be extended. From this cross-cultural substrate, they create furniture that respectfully reflects tradition while containing unique embedded stories, symbols and associations, often expressed in a minimalist idiom. GamFratesi has won numerous awards for its work, including the Planken Ud Prisen / Walk the Plank Award and Bolig magazine's Best Upcomming Designer in Denmark 2008. At the same time, their work is widely exhibited around the world.
