Goran Lelas

Croatian-born Goran Lelas is an acclaimed designer whose magical style encompasses fashion, illustration, children's literature and product and costume design. Lelas started in the Italian fashion industry and developed a distinctive aesthetic that he has translated into sculpture, clothing and shoe design. Lelas also created highly detailed costumes and puppets for theatre and opera, including a special production of Mozart's Magic Flute in his native Croatia. His work has been published in Vogue Pelle, Vogue Bambini, Casa Vogue, Glamour, ID Magazine, The Shanghai Daily and The New York Times.

In 2008, STRANGEco released a special series of collectibles called Somewhere City, designed by Lelas and co-branded by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Somewhere City collection includes both plastic toys and plush dolls and features interchangeable parts, making it ideal for adult collectors and children alike. A line with a playful design is also JUMPIE, a collection of table lamps that Lelas designed for Slide.
