Jaime Hayon
Spanish artist/designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974. He trained as an industrial designer in Madrid and Paris. In 1997 he started working as a researcher at Fabrica, the Benetton Group's communications research centre in Treviso, Italy. A year later he was appointed head of the design department, where he oversaw the development of store interiors, exhibitions and restaurants, as well as books, magazines and logo designs. In 2004, he launched his individual career and has his hands full with eclectic projects. From toys to furniture and interior design to art installations, his boldness crosses the boundaries of the often separate worlds of art and design.
His bathroom collection for Artquitect, launched in 2005, caused an earthquake in the bathroom industry and design community, putting him at the forefront of design trends. Clients working with Hayonstudio include Benetton, Metalarte, Artquitect Edition, Coca-Cola, Danone Group, bd ediciones de diseño, Adidas, Pallucco, Piper Hiedsieck, Magis and Camper. Jaime's work has been featured in all major design publications and newspapers around the world.
