Jangir Maddadi
A Swedish designer with roots in Kurdistan, Jangir Maddadi is known for his flair for balancing form, function and material. His career was born out of a love of drawing when he sought an escape from reality during 13 years spent in a refugee camp in Iraq. Then in Sweden he fell in love with pine furniture. He bases his designs on quality materials, sustainability and aesthetics. He strives to produce locally in Sweden, reduce his carbon footprint and use environmentally friendly raw materials. His handwriting follows in the footsteps of timelessness and the fusion of Scandinavian design with the multicultural. He has won numerous prestigious awards and publications. Award-winning products include recycling systems for the TRECE brand.
