Javier Mariscal
Francisco Javier Errando Mariscal was born on 9 February 1950 in Valencia, Spain, into a family of eleven brothers and sisters. He is known as Javier Mariscal, a Spanish artist and designer whose work has covered a wide range of media, from painting and sculpture to interior design and landscaping. He has lived and worked in Barcelona since 1970. His professional palette includes furniture design, interior decoration, graphic design, landscape painting, sculpture, illustration, multimedia design and animation.
In 1979 he designed the logo of Bar Cel Ona, a work that made him very popular. Ten years later, he held an exhibition at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and participated in the Documenta de Kassel. His speciality is creativity and innovation, all in an appealing Mediterranean package. His playful and elegant designs can be found in the Magis and Vondom collections.
