Kazuko Okamoto

Kazuko Okamoto, born in Chiba, Japan, graduated from ICS College of Arts in Tokyo in 1998. After 14 years of working, among others, for the Japanese company By Step Design Studio, she moved to Milan, Italy, where she currently works as a freelance furniture and product designer. During her career, she has worked in Italy, Spain, the UK, Belgium, France, Lithuania and Sweden, and her distinctive products have endeared her to customers across Europe. During her freelance career, she has won numerous international awards, such as the Red Dot Award in 2016 and the German Design Award in 2018.
