Krystian Kowalski

Krystian Kowalski was born in Warsaw into a family of artists. He studied Design Products at the Royal College of Art in London (MA 2010) and the Faculty of Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (BA 2006 Hons). He gained experience in design studios in Warsaw, Lodz and Bellini Studio in Milan. In 2009-2013 he was co-founder and partner at Kompott Studio, nominated for the FX International Interior Design Award 2010 in the category of Breakthrough Talent of the Year. In 2013 he established his own design practice in Warsaw.

Krystian collaborates with leading international furniture and product brands. His work focuses on finding intelligent, human-centered solutions that go beyond the obvious and attempt to offer a new and observational approach to a given problem. His practice combines technological research and advanced 3D modelling with manual skills. His love of making and building things gives him a unique perspective on the manufacturing solutions, material qualities and DNA of each particular product, as can be seen perfectly in the Prism collection of chairs he created for Noti.
