Lepper - Schmidt - Sommerlade
The design company Lepper, Schmidt, Sommerlade (LSS designer) was founded in 1992 in Kassel by Christian Lepper (born in Bad Honnef in 1958), Roland Schmidt (born in Peine in 1961) and Uwe Sommerlade (born in Calden in 1961). All three founders trained as carpenters and studied design at the University of Kassel. Christian Lepper also studied architecture. Lepper died in January 2008 and since then Roland Schmidt and Uwe Sommerlade have been running the design studio. Their unique work has won them numerous awards, including the Red Dot, iF Hannover and others.
