Lina Obregón

Lina Obregón was born in Colombia, South America, but studied industrial design in Milan, where she permanently moved. She started her career as a product consultant for companies such as Paola Lenti, MDF Italia, Serralunga and others. Her collaboration with Paola Lenti earned the designer a Red Dot Design Award in 2020 for her outdoor seating collection, and she subsequently received an honorable mention at the NYCxDESIGN Awards. As a member of the interdisciplinary group Materiavera, Lina Obregón is involved in projects using only environmentally friendly materials. As part of the EventiUrbani initiative, she helps to develop bilateral business strategies between Italy and Colombia in the fields of architecture, design and art. Her successful know-how is firmly anchored in a personal approach driven by curiosity and a designer's passion for experimentation. Drawing on her experience as a consultant, she always draws on the DNA of the specific company she works with during her project work.

Today, Lina is also involved in academia and research. She is the founder and director of the Bionics Group at the Pontifical University, has lectured at several international workshops in Colombia, and teaches at the European Institute of Design in Milan, Domus Academy and Milan Polytechnic.
