Paolo Rizzatto
Paolo Rizzatto was born in 1941 in Milan and studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano in 1965. He works freelance in his studio in the field of design, architecture, and interior design. In 1978 he founded Luceplan together with Riccardo Sarfatti and Sandra Severi. He has created designs for many Italian and international companies, including Alias, Arteluce, Artemide, Cassina, Danese, Driade, Fiam, Flos, Guzzini, Knoll, Kartell, Laura Meroni, Lensvelt, Luceplan. He has lectured at a number of prestigious universities, including Columbia University in New York. His work has been published in prestigious journals and is part of the permanent collections of many museums and foundations. He has also received numerous awards, including four Premi Compassi d'oro in 1981, 1989, 1995, 2008 and 2011 and the International Design Competition "Darsena di Milano" in 2004.
