The Fornasarig brand story
The history of Fornasarig dates back to 1959, when Giovanni, his brothers and his wife Anna built the Fabbrica SedieFriuli factory aimed at the Italian, European and international markets. In the 1980s, the company focused more on the contact market and adapted its production mainly to equip restaurants and other hospitality establishments. The company owes its success mainly to a long tradition which it has developed over time through passion, care, innovation and ability .
Today, Fornasarig products can be found everywhere in the world; the designer chairs, sofas or tables are appealing not only in Europe, but also in Africa, the United States and even in the Far East. The main material for production is wood, which is considered traditional, environmentally sustainable and valued for its unique sensory, visual and tactile qualities. However, its processing techniques require great knowledge and considerable care. Recently, the company has not shied away from the use of metal in some chair designs. For upholstery, Fornasarig works exclusively with high-quality fabrics Kvadrat and Gabriel.

Fornasarig 's commitment to the environment includes not only the conscious use of raw materials, but above all the company's efforts to avoid consumerism. The company's internal workings and policies are ethical and operational. Beech and oak timber is sourced exclusively from European forests that are sustainably managed according to the strict rules of the FSC® standard, ensuring reforestation cycles that respect the ecosystem and maintain forest biodiversity. All products are designed, engineered and tested by Catas EN1728 and ANSI/BIFMA X5.1 static/fatigue tests to ensure they are suitable for the rigors of use in a contract environment. The products pass all tests with flying colours and are therefore covered by a long term extended warranty.

During its long years of operation, the company has penetrated various contract circles all over the world. You can find Fornasarig chairs or armchairs almost everywhere in the world. A Canadian hotel in Ottawa, for example, opted for a simple black classic and equipped its modern hotel restaurant with timelessly shaped modern chairs. Simple minimalist chairs also shone in the Italian version of Masterchef. For the third time, we look at something more colourful, namely a Dutch hotel whose restaurant is brightened up by Fornasarig chairs in soft blue shades.
